- Bushwalks - the town is nestled in the foothills of Stanley State Forest and surrounded by lush, green natural vegetation and abundant wildlife. Enjoy walking one of the tracks leading off from the Park.
- Gold Tours & Panning - take a Karrs Reef Gold Mine Tour or try your own luck at one of the picturesque gold panning sites close to town. You can take a path leading off from the Park to view the Historic Gorge, cut through granite back in 1859.
- Scenic Drives - experience the tranquil beauty of the surrounding area with eucalypts and native cypress pines, winding creeks, steep gullies and rugged granite outcrops. Roads cater for both 2WD & 4WD vehicles.
- Murray to Mountains Rail Trail - explore Yackandandah during a break from cycling the Rail Trail. (Nearest connections Myrtleford and Beechworth).
- Historical Town Walk - 37 National Trust buildings in our High Street along with our Historic Cemetery established in 1859.
- Family History Research - our Historical Society operates out of the Bank of Victoria Museum providing a search service for those embarking on tracing their family history, along with an interesting historical overview for visitors.
- Bric a Brac & Antiques - visit our local traders along High Street and just out of town.
- Wineries - let the local Winemakers make your visit all the more enjoyable with a tasting or two, and of course you are well positioned to take a short drive across to the Rutherglen region.
- Local Produce - home to the renowned 'Yackandandah Jam' and an abundance of local products, available around town and at markets/festivals.

- Fishing - you can even throw a line in along Yackandandah Creek within the Park and catch a brown Trout for dinner!
